Katarina and Colin’s wedding at Greystone Golf Club & Banquet Center in Washington, Michigan, was such a beautiful summer day from start to finish. The sun was shining, the weather was perfect, and every part of the day felt relaxed and joyful. As a Detroit Michigan Wedding Photographer, I always enjoy photographing weddings at Greystone Golf Club & Banquet Center. The property offers beautiful lake views, rolling greens, and a ceremony space overlooking the 18th hole.
These two originally met at a Halloween party, and later got engaged in downtown Clarkston. Their wedding day felt like such a fun reflection of who they are together. The morning started with Katarina getting ready alongside her bridesmaids, who wore matching black pajamas with white piping, while she wore a silky white robe with lace details. With the help of her bridesmaids and mom, she got into her romantic A-line wedding gown with soft tulle layers and delicate sparkle.
One of the sweetest parts of the morning was Katarina’s first look with her dad and brother. All three of them had huge smiles on their faces, and it was such a fun moment to capture. Colin also shared a first look with his mom before the ceremony, and there were lots of hugs and quiet moments between them.
Before the ceremony, we took wedding party portraits beneath the white pavilion at Greystone Golf Club & Banquet Center. Katarina’s bridesmaids wore different dress styles in soft pastel colors that all worked beautifully together. Their bouquets added the perfect pop of color with roses, dahlias, and other blooms in shades of pink, peach, yellow, and purple. Colin and his groomsmen wore classic black suits with colorful floral boutonnieres, tying everything together perfectly.
The property at Greystone Golf Club & Banquet Center gave us plenty of beautiful spots for photos throughout the day. The pavilion and lakefront ceremony area were especially pretty.
The ceremony took place beneath the pavilion overlooking the lake, which made such a beautiful backdrop as they exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends. After the ceremony, guests headed into the reception space. The tables were decorated with white linens, gold chairs, blush-pink napkins, and colorful floral centerpieces that perfectly matched the wedding palette.
After entering the reception, Katarina and Colin shared their first dance. The evening continued with cake cutting and toasts from their bridal party. There were plenty of laughs, mixed with a few tears, throughout the speeches. Later in the evening, we stepped over to a stunning floral wall filled with blush flowers and a glowing “Let’s Party” sign for a few portraits of the two of them together.
As the night went on, Katarina changed into a short reception dress that was perfect for dancing. One of my favorite parts of the day was their golden hour portraits near the end of the night. The light was absolutely beautiful and gave us the perfect way to end such an amazing day.
From the emotional moments throughout the day to the beautiful golden hour portraits at the end of the night, Katarina and Colin’s wedding at Greystone Golf Club & Banquet Center was such a joy to photograph. The day felt relaxed, meaningful, and full of love for the people surrounding them.
