Michigan Wedding at Birchview Event Center
On a beautiful September day, Dan and Shelby’s Birchview Outdoor Wedding and Event Center wedding was filled with love as they promised to love each other in front of all their favorite people. Nestled on the grounds of Mueller’s Orchard and Cider Mill in Fenton Township, the venue’s rustic charm and stunning landscapes created the perfect backdrop for this couple’s boho-inspired wedding.
The day started with Shelby getting ready alongside her bridesmaids in the cozy bridal suite. Shelby wore a chic white pajama set while her bridesmaids were all matching in cute plaid flannel PJs. One of my favorite details was the special pendant Shelby had pinned to her bouquet, honoring someone dear to her heart.
Once the ladies were ready, Shelby stepped into her beautiful gown, and her bridesmaids, dressed in terracotta, gathered around her for portraits. We took advantage of the gorgeous sunflower field near the barn for these pictures. The vibrant yellow blooms really made the terracotta dresses pop!
Dan, meanwhile, looked incredibly stylish in his brown suit and terracotta tie that perfectly coordinated with the bridal party. His groomsmen matched his style with vests, and together, they made quite the sharp-looking group. But the star of the show was their dog, who wore the most adorable suit costume to match Dan! He stood proudly with the groomsmen during the ceremony, behaving like a good boy.
The ceremony took place at the beautiful pergola overlooking the natural pond, framed by birch trees that inspired the venue’s name. Matching florals adorned the pergola, and a chandelier hung from the beams, adding a touch of elegance to the rustic setting. Dan and Shelby’s dog stood with them as they said their vows and their love was apparent.
After they were officially pronounced husband and wife, the newlyweds and their dog made their way up the stairs to the barn, where the celebrations were just getting started. Before heading to the reception, the wedding party hopped on a tractor-pulled wagon for a quick ride to the apple orchards for more photos. The sweeping views of the orchard and rolling hills gave us the perfect backdrop for romantic shots, and we also snuck in some playful pictures in the sunflower field—it was such a sweet moment for them to let loose and enjoy their first moments as newlyweds!
During the reception, Dan and Shelby brought their boho-rustic vision to life in the pavilion. White fabric draped the space, with chandeliers hung from the wooden beams, creating an inviting reception area. The table decor reflected their color palette of terracotta, taupe, beige, and gold, with wood lanterns, terracotta runners, and tealights adding warmth and texture to the space. They thoughtfully crafted every detail to match the natural feel of the venue, bringing everything together beautifully.
As the sun began to set, we snuck Dan and Shelby out for some golden hour photos, and they turned out amazing! They even climbed up to the balcony of the bridal suite to capture some stunning portraits of them from above—it was the perfect way to close out our time with them before the party kicked into full gear.
Once we returned to the reception, the dance floor came alive, and Shelby and Dan shared a unity shot. Laughter, dancing, and so much joy filled the night as friends and family celebrated the newlyweds.
