Lansing Michigan Photographers
On a warm fall evening, I met up with Peter and Austyn at two of the most beautiful Michigan engagement photo locations! I was completely obsessed with how their Michigan State Capitol engagement photos turned out!
I have been photographing them and their family for a few years now. It’s always heartwarming when I follow families along their life’s journey. They have two sweet boys, and I can’t wait to see them be part of the wedding day! I know it’s going to be an unforgettable day full of love!!
We started their session at Fenner Nature Center. Even though the weather was warm, you could feel that fall was in the air. The trees had begun looking more yellow and gave a romantic look to the photos. Austyn enjoys making charcuterie boards and brought along all the items to create the perfect picnic spread! Both of them like to do this together, and they, of course, had to pair the yummy spread with their favorite red wine. It was so sweet to capture them doing something that they love.
One of my biggest goals during your engagement photos is to capture you as the real couple you are. Think of something you enjoy doing or a place that has a special meaning to you because I want you to be at ease.
Austyn had been saving the cutest boho dress in her closet for the engagement photos, which was beautiful! Her vision for the first location was rustic boho, and we nailed it!
One of the best things about doing your engagement photos in Lansing is the variety of locations around the city! After some time at Fenner Nature Center, we headed to the Michigan State Capitol building. This location may be one of my favorites in downtown Lansing!
Peter and Austyn changed into more formal outfits, looking so sharp. Austyn wore a silky champagne-colored dress, while Peter wore a navy and black suit. The way the lighting was hitting looked wonderful. It was so good catching up with these two and sharing many laughs. After their engagement photos, they enjoyed a fun date night! I recommend planning a fun date night or grabbing dinner after your session!
