Engagement Photos in Lansing Michigan

The evening was gorgeous for Jason and Sierra’s Lansing Michigan Engagement Session! The weather was ideal, and the lighting was terrific. My photographer’s heart was ecstatic during this whole session.

Sierra and Jason went to high school together and were just friends. A while after high school, they reconnected and began dating! Who knew that these two friends from high school would be getting married soon?! 

The legendary beauty at Michigan State University is an excellent backdrop for engagement photos. While on campus, the sun was popping through the trees, giving us gorgeous lighting. Whenever possible, I recommend having your photos taken during golden hour! We were fortunate to find the campus fairly empty while taking their pictures.

They chose amazing outfits to wear during their MSU engagement session, with their garments creating a light and airy vibe. Wearing light colors such as light pink, white, dusty blue, or neutrals will make your photos appear lighter. 

After capturing some amazing photos at Michigan State University, downtown Lansing was next on the list. We went to the top of a parking garage following an outfit change just as the sun was going down, giving the photos a beautiful glow behind the buildings. Enjoying a bottle of champagne and a toast during their session was a request from them. At the end of the session, we had them pop the bubbly, which was the part that Jason was looking forward to most.

I love getting to know my couples during their engagement session. But one of my favorite things is capturing genuine expressions. It’s always fun photographing the excitement and love between each couple. I have so many favorites from this romantic Michigan State University engagement session!
